The company started as Jason & Company in 1998, performing its first play 'Who's Afraid Of Wole Soyinka?' (the political stage satire written by Wole Oguntokun) in September of that year. In October and December of 1998, the same play was presented at the prestigious Muson Centre with the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Wole Soyinka, present.

In 1999, it produced a sit-com, 'Crossworld Blues' on DBN television. In 2002, it produced another televison sit-com, 'Living Free' and the Televison current affairs show, 'The Cutting Edge'.

It gradually became known as the most consistent privately-run theatre establishment in Nigeria and holds the record for the highest number of stage productions staged at the Muson Centre and Terra Kulture, two of the most prominent Arts venues in Lagos.

It has been commissioned to stage productions at the Presidential Villa-Aso Rock, the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre, the International Conference Centre and the Women's Development Centre all in Abuja, and around the country. It was commissioned also by the Society for Family Health (SFH) to present Wole Oguntokun's stage play, Gbanja Roulette, to Federal and State Legislators, to help in the formulation of policy on HIV/AIDS.

In July 2007, Jason Media started the unprecedented Theatre@Terra project in which plays are presented weekly (Sundays) at 3pm and 6pm at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.
